Pollen Count

What is a Pollen Count?

In exchange for Seattle’s natural beauty, we do have a strong pollen presence. Every weekday during pollen season, we provide a Seattle area pollen count. A pollen count assesses the number of pollen grains present per cubic meter of air. Our pollen count is certified by the National Allergy Bureau (NAB).

We have two different pollen counting machines located on the roof of our Northgate (Seattle) office. Our Burkard machine collects pollen 24/7 and reports twice a week for pollens, while our Rotorod runs 25 minutes per day.  This is the Seattle pollen count you’ll find on King5 and other local media.

How Does a Pollen Count Help Me?

By providing this public service, we hope to assist Seattle pollen allergy sufferers in becoming aware of times their symptoms may be triggered, so they can take the appropriate precautions to minimize pollen interaction.

While the Seattle pollen count measures the concentration of pollen in the air, please remember that it’s not the only factor that may cause you to experience allergic symptoms. It’s important to know while informative, a “low” pollen count doesn’t guarantee a low level of symptoms, and, likewise, a “very high” pollen count may not directly correlate with allergy suffering!  Rain can also reduce the pollen count. Also the pollen count can vary depending on your locale (i.e. density of trees, grass, weeds) if you live outside of the city.

We are always happy to meet with you to evaluate your pollen allergies and to make recommendations aimed at improving your day-to-day quality of life.
