Leonard C. Altman, MD

Leonard Altman

Dr. Altman is a board-certified allergist and joined Northwest Asthma & Allergy Center in 1984.  After receiving his medical degree in 1969 from Harvard Medical School, he trained at the University of Washington and the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Altman holds academic positions as Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Affiliate Professor of Oral Biology and Environmental Health at the University of Washington School of Medicine.  In addition to clinical practice, he has long been involved in medical research through the University of Washington (since 1975) and Seattle Allergy & Asthma Research Institute (previously ASTHMA Clinical Research Center).

He also organizes the Allergy & Immunology Teaching Series at the University of Washington, a well-respected and collegial information exchange for allergists across Washington and neighboring states.

In his free time, Dr. Altman enjoys and collects classic cars.  He has three adult children.  Two are physicians, one of whom is an assistant professor at the University of Washington.  He has three grandchildren.
