Trever M. Burnett, MD

Trever Burnett

Dr. Burnett is a board-certified allergist and joined Northwest Asthma & Allergy Center in 2013. Originally from Utah, Dr. Burnett attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City, where he excelled as an NAIA scholar-athlete on the men’s soccer team. Following college, he attended medical school at the University of Utah, where the United States Air Force awarded him a Health Professions Scholarship. During his time there, he served as a Regional Trustee for the American Medical Student Association and was the Co-President of his class during his senior year. Dr. Burnett completed a transitional internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center. During this amazing year in Seattle, he met his wonderful wife and developed a love for the Pacific Northwest that would bring him back almost a decade later.

During active duty service, Dr. Burnett worked as a flight surgeon and had the fortune of living overseas. His first assignment was at the “tip of the spear” in Kunsan, Korea. Considered a remote assignment, it was here that he developed many of the professional and personal skills that would help him succeed later in his career. He then moved on to Lakenheath, England, where he served as the primary flight surgeon for the 493rd Fighter Squadron, the “Grim Reapers.” His duties took him all over Europe and North America and allowed him to accumulate over 100 flight hours in the F15!

Dr. Burnett’s Air Force career ended after four years in 2007. He then completed his Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency at Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. During this time, he received numerous housestaff awards for excellence. He then did his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the National Jewish Health Center and the University of Colorado. His primary research focus was on Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD), and he has published several articles on this topic. He continues to have a strong interest in caring for patients with severe asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergies, and chronic sinus disease. No matter the condition, his most significant goal is to help patients better understand and manage their disease and improve their quality of life. He is board-certified in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Burnett lives in Eastern Washington with his wife and four children. His family loves their life on the river and tries to spend as much time in the water as possible. He also loves attending all of his kids’ many events and is an active church member. A former Eagle Scout, he now volunteers his time with the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Burnett enjoys running marathons, skiing, camping, and boating.

Dr. Burnett sees patients in our Richland office.
