Dr. Weiss is a board-certified allergist. After receiving his medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook School of Medicine, he completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and his fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He moved to Seattle in 1989, and after practicing allergy and asthma medicine in Redmond for 11 years, he joined Northwest Asthma & Allergy Center in 2000.
Dr. Weiss is actively involved in numerous local and national allergy and immunology societies. He holds an academic position as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is a member of the Latex Allergy Committee of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI). He is a member of the advisory committee to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on allergenic products. Previously, he was Chief of Staff at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center; Past President of the Puget Sound Allergy Society; Past President of the Washington State Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and Chairman of the Adverse Reactions to Medication Committee. He has authored over 30 articles and chapters in the field of allergy.
Dr. Weiss is a passionate golfer, table tennis player, and hiker. He lives in Bellevue with his wife and two hypoallergenic dogs. He has two daughters, one in Seattle and another living in Brooklyn, NY.
